Welcome to Our Classrooms

Welcome to Big Walnut Elementary!

We have a wonderful year ahead of us filled with learning and growing. 1st Grade is an exciting, important transition year for your child, when lifelong attitudes about education are formed.  It is a time for the child to develop confidence within a safe, caring classroom environment that fosters individual growth in social/emotional, physical and intellectual areas.

It is our wish that your child’s year will be full of successful experiences.  We hope she/he gains confidence and has a positive 1st Grade experience!

Birthdays...

In an effort to keep all of our first graders safe and healthy we will celebrate each child's birthday in the classroom with a birthday crown, singing, and handmade birthday cards from classmates.

Feel free to send in non-edible birthday treats for your son or daughter on his/her birthday to share with the class, but please do not feel pressured to do so. Special pencils, erasers, stickers, or small inexpensive trinkets are a few suggestions.

Thank you for your support in providing a safe and healthy environment for all of our students!!
